SmartPhone
In
today’s days, smartphones users are increasing day by day. Millions of users
always choose to have smartphones in their pockets and the same million users
gets irritate by their smartphone’s slow performance and lagging. Its obvious,
every smartphones have some limit as they are developed with limited number of
RAM,ROM and processor.
Introduction to Smartphone
A smartphone is a mobile phone with an advanced mobile
operating system. They typically combine the features of a cell phone with those
of other popular mobile devices, such as personal digital assistant (PDA),
media player and GPS navigation unit. Most smartphones have a touchscreen user
interface, can run third-party apps and are camera phones. Most Smartphones
produced from 2012 onwards also have high-speed mobile broadband 4G LTE
internet, motion sensors, and mobile payment mechanisms.
Some of the smartphones operating system are
Android,iOS,windows, blackberry and so on.. In operating system, androids are
being more popular as it comes with a desirable price with almost all
functions. Due to unlimited functions, people faces mobiles getting slow and
laggy. Here I am going to discuss some tips to overcome such problems.
Make your
Smartphone fast in not more than 5 minutes
1. Clear your app cache
Over time, your programs write to the app cache on your
phone and eat up precious system resources while slowing everything down. You
can clear the cache on any individual app by visiting its property page in the
Settings menu and tapping the clear cache button, but with dozens of apps on
most phones, it could take an eternity to do this manually.
To do this manually follow these steps.
- Settings
- Application Manager (You will see three sections there {Dowloaded,Running,All})
- Go to Running section (You will see numbers of apps running in this page)
In bottom you will find “Show service in use”tab. Tap there
“Number of apps are
shown which are consuming cache memory”
Manually tap in apps and you will find stop button. Tapping
in stop button will manually stop the apps which are stored in app cache.
Third party application like App Cache cleaner is also available in Google play Market from
which it automatically clears all caches in one tap.
2.
Disable or Uninstall unused apps
You may not know it, but many of the apps you never even use
may be running in the background, eating up precious system resources. From the
app that you tried for 5 minutes last month to the shopping app that came
preloaded on your phone, every unused app has the potential to weigh your phone
down. It’s easy to uninstall apps you’ve downloaded yourself, but crapware is a
little harder to dispose of.
If you have rooted your phone, you can completely remove
every trace of your preloaded apps. If not, you can still disable those apps
through the settings menu. It should take about 10 seconds to uninstall or
disable each app you don’t want. It should take you approximately one minute to
get rid of 6 apps, longer if you have more crapware to dump.
Follow these steps to uninstall apps
- Go to settings menu
- Application Manager
- Downloaded apps are seen under “downloaded” section , tap the app you want to uninstall.
- Tap in uninstall tab.
3. Install New app launcher
Your phone’s app launcher controls
your desktop, lock screen apps menu, and other critical parts of the UI. Though
every Android phone comes with its own preloaded app launcher, you can install
a third party launcher that will not only change the look and feel of your
device, but also speed the time it takes it to navigate around the OS. There
are many different launchers available in the app store, but we found Lightning
Launcher Home to be among the fastest and easiest to use.
4.Remove Unnecessary widgets and shortcuts
Unnecessary Widgets might be crawling in your homescreen
which always makes your phone slower by its background performances. Its easy
to remove those unused widget. Just tap widget presented in your homescreen for
a while and after 2 seconds you will find that widget will be able to move.
Drag that widget to delete option which normally appears in the top/bottom of
homescreen. You can do the same with unused shortcuts as well.
Removing widgets and shortcuts will free up the memory
consumed by GUI interface and it helps in making mobile fast and smooth.
5.Limit or Disable Background Data
Smartphones are built for multi tasking purpose. As there
are many system apps which are always running in background until we stop it.
It consumes RAM and battery as well which is ofcourse not a good sign for smartphone users. To disable
background process follow the mentioned steps.
- Go to Settings
- Then Go to “Data Usage” Option (For version 4.0.4 and above)
- In that section you will see set data limit.Tick on that box.
- Then tap on option button(Right Hard Key)
- You will see “Restrict Background” option. Tick on the box
“this will stop the apps running in background”
6.Stop Auto Synchronization
Google accounts, Facebook accounts and so on starts to
synchronise itself when you are in wifi or data is on. Stop auto synchronization
and manually synchronize them whenever you want.
Follow the steps to turn of auto synchronization
- Go to Settings
You will see “Accounts and sync” option, tap on that
In the top, you can toggle on and off for auto
synchronization.
- Tap that button to turn it off.
Those were the tips to make your smartphone faster that before. Maintain the usage and memory consumption of apps, I am sure it will be smoother that before.
